Fun at the river . . .

Sunday, 11 March 2007
This morning Mummy, Luke and I got all packed up and headed off to the river for a couple of hours. We had a great time at the river. I saw lots and lots of little tiny fish in the water, that was more than enough of a reason for me to stay out of the water. We threw stones in the water, found lots of sticks and I made them into boats.

While we were there a Daddy went past in his canoe with two big boys, I like the look of those canoes. I think I would like to go in a canoe. There were also two other lots of people swimming in the river. I didn't want to go swimming (like I said before the sight of the little fish was enough to keep me out of the water).

Luke and I spent lots of time building sandcastles as well. There isn't very much sand at the river, but we did find enough to keep busy. On the way home we went for a big drive so Luke would go to sleep. I have been trying to have a sleep this afternoon, but she won't let me have one. Bad luck for me really.

Wow that river looks really lovely Gracie. Went on a scout camp last weekend and we had to walk through a river but it was in a cave! It took nearly an hour and was very scarey for a Mummy. We had to wear thermal clothing though, a hat and special torch that went on our heads because it was very dark in the long cave. I had to pretend I was in control though because I had to help the scouts in my group. I was glad to get out in the sunshine again. It was called Cave stream.

Charlie that sounds like lots of fun. I would like to do something like that. We are coming to Christchurch this weekend. But Mummy said we won't be coming to visit because we aren't there for long enough (Uncle Brenton is getting married on Saturday - and I am going to be a flower girl. That's a very important job you know.

Wow good for you Gracie, flower girls have such an important job. I am sure you will look beautiful. I hope the weather is kind to you. We had rain today but it was so nice to have it for a change. My boys are going on a Scout survival camp this weekend and have to build their own bivouac (shelter) and sleep in it the night! I hope it doesn't rain for them then! Katie and I are going to have a girls weekend doing girl stuff and eating what we like when we like! Yay for us.

    Have a great wedding!

    Charlie.
